Tunisia has a large tourist industry and thus also has a a variety of coach companies and travel agencies. Tunisian Travel Service (TTS) appears to be the oldest one. Most companies are relatively new, from the 1990's or even later. Older photographs of coaches show imported vehicles and locally built Volvo -SETCAR. But from the 1990's onwards all coaches, except for the midibuses (around 30 seats) are built in Tunisia by SETCAR, STIA and its successor ICAR, and Alpha Bus. Buses used by factories and some schools however show a completely different pictures with a variety of secondhand buses from Europe (Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy). Most are individual purchases, probably by Tunisians living abroad. Thes page have been organised by operatorin alphabetical order. On page 5 the miscellaneous and private buses are shown. For an overview of bus models used see the bus builders page.
