Criss-crossing Bangkok part 191

Due to the construction of new (long) rail connections in the Bangkok metropolis, the routes of many bus services have changed drastically as a result of these expansions.
A number of old, familiar bus lines have disappeared from the scene. In this context we mention the familiar lines 25 (to Paknam) and 29 (to Rangsit).
Many existing routes were given a new number, which was often accompanied by a major route change.
New commuter lines were built to Rangsit and Taling Chan. Unlike the diesel railways in Thailand, these new lines are electrified.
On January 19, 2023 the famous Hua Lamphong Central Station was partially closed and all long-distance trains were moved to a new train station: Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal Station (Bang Sue Grand Station).
The task has now been taken over by Southeast Asia’s largest railway station, Aphiwat, located near the old Bang Sue Junction station, which opened earlier on August 2, 2021.
Both the skytrain and the metro are undergoing various expansions since 2023. Two monorail lines, together 62.5 km long, create new connections in the north of the city. An outsider is the Gold Line, an automated people mover, a 1.7 km long (short) connection between BTS station Krung Thon Buri and the luxurious Icon Siam Shopping Center with terminus Khlong San, not far from the old location of the Maeklong Line station with the same name.
