General information

Kazakhstan’s capital, Almaty, has an extensive network of buses, trolleybuses, and a metro line. The small tram system was closed in 2015, but a light rail system is planned.

The trolleybuses are operated by LLP «AlmatyElectroTrans». 25 companies operate diesel and Natural Gas buses, one of which is the same company that operates the trolleybuses. The current (2023) list can be found here.
