The main providers of urban services in Kigali until August 2013 were the mini- and midibuses (mainly Toyota Hiace and Toyota Coaster) belonging to the transport cooperatives, united under RFTC. The minibuses were (mostly) white with a yellow band, the midibuses were allover white, although some had advertisements. Buses were heavily competing for passengers and services outside rush hours were limited, with no evening services. No route numbers were used though some of the midibuses had a large sticker with 1, 2, 3 or 4, probably indicating certain zones. While Toyota Hiace and Coaster buses dominated the scene, there were some other buses and even a Setra S315xx was tried. An interesting vehicle was a Toyota -Salvador Caetano ex Portugal.

The services of the Veluwe-Zuid concession are operated under the RRReis name. This has been chosen for the provinces of Overijssel, Gelderland, and Flevoland and will eventually be used in the entire area. The timetable is therefore presented as a whole on a single website, www.rrreis.nl. Veluwe-Zuid includes lines 1, 2, and 5 (Ede city service), 43, 85, 86, 105, 106, 107, 108, 110, and 231 (regional lines), 302 and 303 (fast services), 505 and 511 (neighborhood buses ) and 679 (school line). Line 106 (Otterlo-Hoge Veluwe) is operated by Noot with a small bus. Lines 5 and 85 are operated together with Syntus Utrecht, line 43 is operated together with Breng. School line 679 is outsourced to coach company Noot. Hermes RRReis has depots in Apeldoorn, Ede and Wageningen.
