Suriname is the middle one of the three Guyana’s on South America’s north coast. It became independent from The Netherlands in 1975. Dutch influence is still strong in culture and language, also because of the many Suriname people living in The Netherlands. In the bus scene, the Dutch influence can also be found, though only through secondhand imports.
