Kigali Bus Services, Yutong ZK6108HGC. Read full text
The experiences with the Zonda buses were such that KBS looked at a different supplier for the next batch of vehicles. By the beginning of 2012 another 20 buses arrived, this time Yutong ZK6108HGC, also two-door city buses, in the same light green and white livery. They have Euro II engines, manual gearboxes and received fleet numbers 70-89, which were removed by mid-2013. Registrations noted are RAC 626C to RAC 644C and RAC 647C. None of these buses received the all-over advertisements, only in 2015 did limited advertisements appear again on the buses, without compromising the livery. The VIN structure is LZYTBGD6xB104xxxx.
As KBS had withdrawn its urban services because of the operational difficulties, the buses were used on the long-distance service Kigali-Musanze-Rubavu. The plastic seating, well-adapted to urban services, was not particularly appreciated for the long journey (some 4 hours). Three buses received new upholstered seats while at the same time the seating capacity was increased, partially by applying a 2+3 arrangement.
