OCFTC (Office des Chemins de Fer et des Transports en Commun). The government railway and public transport company with white and light blue buses. Railways have been completely abandoned and most tracks have been lifted, and the company's bus services were restricted to Beirut after they were resumed when the civil war ended (1990). However, the company has been in decline and in April/May 2009 no buses were seen in service. Also, the company's website, which was still on the air by the end of 2008, is not accessible anymore. Two garages (at former railway stations/yard sites) were seen: one in the center with around 55 buses stored and one south-east of the center with around 155 buses stored, with many buses damaged. The buses were all Berliet PR100 and Karosa B731 or B732, and unidentified midibuses. The Berliet PR100 supposedly date from the 1970's, the Karosa were delivered in 1996, 200 in total. In 1960 150 Chausson AP were delivered to the OCFTC. Many were destroyed during the war when they were used as barricades.
