Connexion

Connexion (Connex, part of Veolia) operates a service from Beirut to Tripoli in the north. It has been present in Lebanon since 1998. Buses are white. The fleet numbers some 30 vehicles (Connex info 2003): secondhand Karosa/Renault Axer from Veolia France, new TEMSA Safir and, the newest buses, some small TEMSA Prestij Super DeLuxe. Buses start from Charles Helou bus station in Beirut, which is a completely underutilised large and dirty covered bus station near Beirut's centre. In 2002 Connex opened a new bus station in Tripoli. A "depot" (open area) with some 15 buses parked was seen along the highway just south of Tripoli. Connex Lebanon is also involved in tourism activities.
