The Ikarus 256.70 demonstrator was initially numbered 11005, but became 5650 when the other 29 buses were delivered. The Ikarus 256.70 had a DAF engine, probably the LT160 like the Ikarus 263 and 216.02. Most were taken by the Iraqi occupying forces (August 1990- February 1991), probably explaing why the new Ikarus 253's numbering started at 5656. One Ikarus 256.70 was renumberd 5706 (maybe a later recovered vehicle?). It was also repainted into the new white livery.
