Like other "Ikarus 250K" buses the "conference buses" 5290-5292 had Raba-MAN D2356HM6U engines and Renk-Doromat 873a automatic transmissions. They differed from 5288-5289 by having a different layout and only one door. Another "conference bus" was number 5293, built in 1977 and only numbered when 5288-5292 arrived. It differd in several aspects from the other buses.
