The largest users of buses in Mauritania are probably the mining companies in the north of the country (not seen, but They are reported to have recieved 15 Mercedes-Benz OF1617 -Jonckheere in 1981 and 2 in 1985) and the army/government services. In 1998 20 Mercedes-Benz -CATOSA buses from Mexico were imported. Several were seen with the army.
