The Ramleh line in Alexandria is one of three places in the world where double deck trams are still in service. The old 500-series trams were built during the 1920's. Most were replaced when the new Kinki Sharyo trams 101-208 were delivered from 1976 onwards. Some old sets with a double decker remained in service longer. Another six sets (209-226) were delivered between 1991-1995, this time with one double deck car. Around 2009 one set (113-115) was renewed/rebuilt by SEMAF. Also, eight two-cars sets of the urban network were equiped with pantograhs and assigned to the Ramleh network. They were renumberd from 101-116 to 1101-1116.
Cars in a set have consequtive numbers, so the double deckers are part of sets 209-210-211 up to 224-225-226.
