This vehicle was renumbered from the series 5650-5679. Part of that series had fallen victim to the Gulf War and it appears the remaining vehicles were regrouped as 5650-5655 and the enw Ikarus 253 were numbered from 5656 onwards. One theory for the renumbering of one bus to 5706 is that it was recovered or repaired later and then numbered after the Ikarus 253 that had already been delivered. This vehicle was seen in 2005 and in 2009 (out of service) in the new white livery.
