The Italian government donated these IVECO buses with Itailan built bodywork. The total was probably 40 buses, 30 of which were seen. The first buses were delivered with NYS registrations (GKM691 and ?) but were quickly reregistred as KYF993 and KYF994. The other buses seen had registrations in the range KZG011 to KZG068. With these buses the NBS services were officially launched in 1988. In later years some buses were repainted in the allover red livery and one recieved a broad white band on the skirts with the company name in large red letters (see pictures below). None were seen in the new white livery with green and brown stripes. These buses later were numbered in the 3000-series though only four buses were seen with their numbers: 3003, 3027, 3041, 3046. Though this would indicate the presence of more than 40 buses it may very well be that the numbering was mixed with the IVECO -Ikarus batch. In the DAF and Volvo-series numbers were also assigned irrespective of body builder.
Pictures taken in Nairobi, August 1988, January 1993 (bus with white band on skirts), and April 1994 (bottom, five pictures).
