Heliopolis's tramfleet consists of three-car Japanese built/designed units. Cairo trams were added to the system as the Cairo urban lines were closed (for those trams see the Cairo section). Trams were green and light cream. During the second half of the 1990's a new livery of dark green with cream and a yellow stripe was applied. Series of modern trams are:

401-465 1967 Kinki Sharyo two-car sets, none seen 1984 and later
501-540 1971 Kinki Sharyo three-car sets (26 cars with and 14 without cabs). None seen 1984 and later.
601-632 1974 Kinki Sharyo four-car sets (16 cars with and 16 without cab)
701-728 1975 Kinki Sharyo four-car sets (14 cars with and 7 without cab, 7 trailers)
801-836 1976 Kinki Sharyo four-car sets (18 cars with and 9 without cab, 9 trailers)
901-936 1980 Kinki Sharyo four-car sets (18 cars with and 9 without cab, 9 trailers)
1001-1039 1982 Kinki Sharyo three-car sets (26 cars with and 13 without cab)
1101-1115 1988/9 Kinki Sharyo/SEMAF three-car sets (10 cars with and 5 without cab)

All four-car sets were soon reduced to three-car sets. More recently (2010, 2013) all remaing sets only had two cars left.
