Alexandria's tram fleet was modernised with 99 Duwag trams from Copenhagen which arrived in 1969-1972, replacing a fleet of secondhand PCC-cars. They retained their numbers, with 841 a "gap" as that tram burnt out in Copenhagen. In 2001 numbers 815 and 890 went back to Denmark as museum trams. In 1982 Kinki Sharyo delivered the 101-130 which run in two-car sets with each car having one cab. To a similar layout Ganz-MAVAG from Hungary built the 1201-1230 in 1985/1986. Eight sets (cars 101-116) recently recieved pantographs instead of trolley poles, were renumberd 1101-1116 and are used on the Ramleh line.
