Local routes 30 and 31, to the North of Amsterdam, were discontinued on 3 February 2018 and replaced by “Mokumflex” on-demand service operated by RMC.

Since 1 January 2018 the “Rieker Circle Line”, operated by Jan de Wit, has become GVB route 68. Jan de Wit continues to operate the route with its tree Scania Omnilink 334-336 until beginning of February 2018, when the small buses of discontinued routes 30 and 31 will start operating the 68. The Rieker Circle Line has become a collaboration between the private sector and a public transport sector, where the private sector finances a public service. The Gelderlandpleinlijn is another example.

From 2000 until December 10, 2011, GVB participated in the “Schiphol Sternet”, a network around Schiphol Airport. From 11 December 2011 onwards the GVB Sternet services were continued by Connexxion. GVB bought series 231-252 specially for Sternet services in the red livery. Numbers 225 and 253-254 were temporarly in the Sternet livery, 225 initially in a distinct white-red livery.
