Fleet news:
-in June 2019 the long-awaited four fuel-cell electric VDL bsues 2000-2003 were registred. A bus consists of a standard VDL SLF120E bus with a one-axle short-coupled trailer. They are in an adapted Rnet-livery and will be used on routes to Rotterdam Zuidplein.

Connexxion won the concession Hoekse Waard-Goeree Overflakkee from Arriva in 2015, starting 13 December 2015, for a period of eight years. HWGO, as it is often abbreviated, consists of two large (former) islands south of Rotterdam, belonging to Zuid Holland Province. For a long time these island were isolated from the mainland, connections provided by ferries and transport on the islands by the diesel trams of the Rotterdamsche Tramweg Maatschappij. Nowadays all the island of the delta south of Rotterdam are connected by bridges and dams. Agriculture and fishing are still major economic activities, though summer tourism is very important. The area has old and picturesque villages though since connections between the islands and Rotterdam have improved many people are now working in Rotterdam creating heavy rush hour traffic streams.

The bus network reflects this situation with very frequent services to Rotterdam and a rather meager local network, with school services providing extra services for pupils.

The network on the southern island of Goeree-Overflakkee, with Middelharnis as the main urban center, consists of:
-“normal” routes 134, 135 and 138, of which 134 is very infrequent and 138 is always operated with a small vehicle;
-R-Net express routes 436 and 437 to Rotterdam;
-school services 604, 630, 635 and 639.
-express route 104 runs along the coast from Renesse through HWGO to Spijkenisse in Voorne-Putten concession.

On the northern island of Hoekse Waard the network is much larger with:
-“normal” services 160, 163, 164, 166-172, 174-177, 180, 185, 194 and 197, most of which connect to the Rotterdam area, with 263, 264 and 274 as variations on routes 163, 164 and 174, running just a few services;
-585 and 587 are “ring” or “phone” buses on Saturday and Sunday:
-662, 663, 664, 666, 667, 668 and 669 are school services;
-711 and 712 are “neighborhood” services, manned by volunteers.

Connexxion introduced a new corporate livery in the HWGO concession, consisting of white with a greenish-yellow roof (as in the previous livery) and a new logo. For the R-Net buses are in the mandatory red and grey livery.

The Connexxion fleet consisted at the start of the concession of 47 VDL LLE120 Citea (5844-5890), built end of 2007 and transferred from Veolia’s Limburg concession, and 18 new R-Net express buses of the same model (5900-5917), in the red-grey R-Net livery. In addition there are two neighbourhood buses. In December 2016/January 2017 the fleet was expanded with three VDL-Berkhof Ambassador 200 buses, ex Hermes Eindhoven, built in 2008, in March 2019 two more buses, 4213 and 4215, were added.
