-27 June 2018: the concession has been extened from 11 December 2020 tot 11 December 2022. Thus means that all concessions in Friesland end the same moment. The province wants to merge the Friesland concessions into one large concession. The province will take the coming years to experiment with a re-alignment of routes, avoiding detours through village centers and looking at alternative means to connect stops along main roads to village centers, thus making bus routes faster and more reliable. Money saved this way is to be used on bus routes with high occupancy.

-In October 2017 Friesland province announcd that its two concessions, which will be tendered as one next time, have been extended with two years, form 12 December 2020 until 11 December 2022. This will permit experimenting with a revised network with “stretched routes”, eliminating detours through villages. The resulting saving will be used to intesify services on main routes.

On 24 March 2017 the first two articulaetd electruic buses arrived on Terschelling. The page with the 3031-3034 has been added to the site on 8 April 2017.

Arriva won the concession Zuidoost Friesland in 2016, with services starting on 11 December, 2016. It took over all bus services in the region from Qbuzz. In addition it won the concession “Waddeneilanden”, starting 1 January, 2017 which comprises bus services on the islands of Ameland, Terschelling and Vlieland. Arriva already operated on these islands, partly in collaboration with TCR. Zuidoost Friesland (south-east Friesland province with Drachten as the centre) and the Waddeneilanden are now operated as one concession. Arriva also operates in the remaining of Friesland province and on the island of Schiermonnikoog. The concession is only four years; in 2020 a new concession, covering the whole province plus the four Friesian Waddenislands will be tendered.

Seven express buses are taken over from Qbuzz. These only entered service in 2015 on request of the province. All other buses are new. On the Waddenislands all buses are electric. The first 10 are VDL Citea SLF120, number 3011-3020. The articulated buses arrived in March 2017. In addition to these new electric buses a few Mercedes-Benz Citaro and Citaro G were retained as extras.

On Vlieland TCR continues to operate. For this it received one electric VDL bus, Arriva 3017 and 611 in the TCR numbering, and it transfered one electric IVECO midibus, number 541, from its Renesse Transferium service to Vlieland in January 2017. It also received the blue livery.
